I should have turned the television off after the first quarter of Game 4 of the NBA finals. I was just too enthralled by the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers were demolishing the Boston Celtics. I wanted the Lakers to keep this intensity up and take their morale out. As it turned out, it was just a false sense of security the 24 point lead the Lakers had had.

I can hear it now. All over the world where people are playing basketball and someone gets hurt, the comment, “Don’t bust a Paul Pierce!” will be forever immortalized. I saw game 1 of the NBA finals and thought the Lakers were actually doing really well until Paul Pierce thought he blew his knee out. His injury unfortunately was not severe at all. It was so insignificant that his over exaggerated agony of display of pain and then being carried off court is so much drama that no one on this side can deny. He was carried off the court by teammates and trainer to the entry hall then wheeled away in a wheel chair. He sat in the locker room for maybe 5 minutes and came back out.
Yep. I called it in the last post at half-time of game four of the Western Conference finals. I already knew that the Lakers were going to win games 4 and 5 and voila! We are back in the NBA Finals. Finally, I don’t have to hear any more about the Spurs.

Just watching a single half; I cannot stand the team. They are too sheltered by the media where all the broadcasters just seem to love the Spurs. All game long, all the analysts and commentators talk about how poised these Spurs are, how Parker is unstoppable, how Ginobili is due for a great game because he is a competitor and how Duncan has been bored in the regular season and needs a challenge that comes with the playoffs. Screw that! The Spurs are just protected by the referees and the NBA organization.

If you have followed the NBA for the past 5 years, no doubt the most dangerous player in the professional basketball has been none other than Kobe Bryant. The same argument can be said before that, but for the sake of argument; the guy is just simply amazing.
After the opening tip; it was clear that the Lakers were disoriented. They straight out looked lost on the court. It was about 4 minutes into the game before either team actually made a basket that went through the hoop. Then Rafer Alston decided to just take the game over with his phenomenal three point shooting.
…in his entire career was to have an expiring contract so that Lakers GM, Mitch Kupchak, was able to trade him to Memphis Grizzlies and bring Pau Gasol.
