Sometimes you find an image that needs little a work and I figured this would be a fun one because what can be done should be subtle. The girl in the image has great features and amazing eyes; but it is a bit dark. I tried to just clean it up a bit and add a bit more color to it.
The changes are minimal but the overall feel is considerably more vibrant. The little fixes made this quick snapshot photo of her almost professional. Take a look at the before and after photos and let me know what you think.

Do you love to eat? Having trouble finding a good website with awesome recipes? What about those gourmet meals prepared you see on the Food Network in HD? Yeah, ingredients are fine but most websites offer dry articles and scarce directions. I found, however, that this site is just pure eye candy bliss for food. All types from steaks to desserts. I now just want to share it with you and make sure you are all aware of it.
Times like this, I am thankful for blogging because only this way we can see all these wonderful recipes and fabulous photos of the finished product all collected on a site. If you have any great recipes, share it!

So over the weekend, I started using some profile pictures of people to try to manipulate them, either from removing normal blemishes, losing weight, etc. I decided to go for a more extreme and found a photo online that gave me an interesting time trying to manipulate the photo in photoshop. How extraordinary is with a few filters, some skewing, adding some hair and color, a person can totally look different.
I think this gives a really good idea of how one should consider before going for an extreme make over. Take a look at what I did below:

The hollow stadium with only the sound of winds blowing around. The sun pierces down through the clear skies. Empty rows of empty seats from the upper deck to the lower levels. Dodger Stadium sits, empty with only us tourists visiting.
The weather was actually windy and on my way home it actually started raining; it even hailed. However, too many weekends have gone by where I wake up in the morning and just sit around not doing anything. That has to be a thing of the past especially living in Los Angeles. There are so many landmark locations that growing up over here lets you take things forgranted.

I was never a really good chess player but I can claim to be a fairly moderate XiangQi (Chinese chess) player. So when I saw this Three Kingdoms themed XiangQi set; it was just too irresistible to not buy it. I have always thought collector chess sets that were being displayed at hobby stores were really cool especially when each figure on the chess set was a different character. I knew I had to buy this chess set and I have yet had a crack at it yet. I need to find an opponent; anyone out there familiar with XiangQi?
Here are some photos of the set (forgive photo quality, not the greatest): Continue reading ‘三國演義 Three Kingdoms - Xiangqi Collection’
Its been awhile since my last post but rest assured I have not abandoned this blog. I have just been busy playing around with some Adobe’s Photoshop and Illustrator. The results? I took the time to learn Illustrator because I never actually used it before and it is strangely familiar yet very different from Photoshop. One of the things I did was to trace an old-school Nissan Skyline.
It needs a lot of work but I am trying to keep it really simple. Take a look:

Following my previous post about the Pasadena Center being demolished and rebuilt with a time lapse camera; I found some cool YouTube videos on time lapse painting. It is very cool to watch as the canvas art keeps changing. Many artists work on it and the detail of each painting is phenomenal. It is almost a shame that some art is painted over but you have to watch it yourself.
I think it just make me want to go out and start painting or just doodling away. I have embedded it here in my page for you to view. Please take a look and also visit the original YouTube author for posting this up.

There is something different and special about matchboxes. It could be simplicity of the size, the odor of the wooden matches when lit, or the art and design that is created on the limited space. I cannot say when I decided to start collecting matchboxes but it has always intrigued me. It is a souvenir, a memory and a time capsule all bound into one.
These days, it is harder to come by unless you are an avid traveler and you stay at hotels or eat at nice restaurants. I find the coolest matchboxes come from these places. A matchbox serves several purposes:
