Rockets charge towards consecutive win number 22 against Lakers; wheres the defense?

Lamar Odom.. look at the whining face…After the opening tip; it was clear that the Lakers were disoriented. They straight out looked lost on the court. It was about 4 minutes into the game before either team actually made a basket that went through the hoop. Then Rafer Alston decided to just take the game over with his phenomenal three point shooting.

The game really was not close with the Rockets leading the entire game. Lakers did cut it to 2 points but that is as close as it got. I feel bad for the entire team as there really was a lack on effort and watching Kobe painstakingly try to keep the game close. His game was not pretty either as he hoisted more than 30 shots to just total 24 points in this contest. The other ineffective Lakers were worse as they could not get open or help Kobe out either.

I know the newly acquired Pau Gasol recently sprainged his ankle but this effort on today’s Sunday game was flat out poor. The Rockets are shorthanded without Yao Ming and they managed to win and keep the streak alive. Here are some things I noticed in today’s game:

  • Ronny Turiaf gets an A for effort but the guy is way too energetic and at times it causes loose balls and turnover efforts.
  • Sasha “The Machine” Vujacic; what type of machine are you? You remind me of the broken down printer in the movie Office Space. Make your three’s please!
  • Lamar Odom needs to stop choking and make his free throws. Nice drive for a dunk at the end of the game but a little too late.
  • Kobe needs to some how set up his teammates but at times; it seems like that don’t know what plays they are running and just are not cooperating with him.

That’s all. I probably should have just skipped the game and played some Smash but thought the Lakers would pull together and end the Rockets win streak. Guess not.
