I was reading an article on Gizmodo about the iPod Shuffle being placed in a popsicles as a prize. I immediately began to think how I always hated the Apple iPod Shuffle and thought what a stupid gadget it was. Sure, it is small in size, comes in a multitude of colors now, much larger date capacity and of course it is an digital music player from Apple and that is all that makes it great. However, its greatest downfall is summed up by its name, Shuffle.
If I hated someone, I would purchase an iPod Shuffle and give it to them as a gift just to annoy them. To let them upload songs onto a mp3 player and unable to choose certain songs you wanted to listen. Oh the agony when you are stripped of choice!

A meal at a casual restaurant such as BJ’s or TGIFridays. Rowdy crowd. Good atmosphere. Drinks. Good times.

While reading through Digg, I came across this Flickr site titled “Obscene Interior“. I thought it was a great idea for art. It definitely takes a page out of the whole Apple iPod commercial where everyone is a silhouette but the picture is taken from porn. Snap shots of porn stars in action doing the dirty deed. Interesting art concept and I would rather just call it SFW(Safe for work) porn.

I recently read through a study title “Dreams: Night School” and it basically explores and defines exactly what dreams are. After running tests on lab mice from prohibiting them ever obtaining REM sleep (dream state); these mice functioned poorly and were not able to rely on their instinctive nature to react. The article further explains the reason our dreams tentatively have a negative tone is due to the fact that in our dreams, we put ourselves in situations were we are tested to react in preparation for reality. It does make sense as most of our dreams are typically negative even nightmarish. The worst possible situations we find ourselves are typically in dreams but how we end up saving the day or overcoming it in our dream is what helps us achieve in reality.

With the Apple iPhone, comes an ocean of options when it comes to accessorize your new gadget. From the next Bluetooth headset to cases to earphones to screen protectors but here is something I have not seen yet. iPhone metal plate covers that lets you distinguish the look of your device. These metal plates are made from 99.9% gold foil plus EMI fiber and removes 95% of electromagnetic waves. The plate covers are for the front and back and come in two different color options right now; silver and gold.

So I come across humorous things from time to time; or so I think and thought I would share. The sign probably means something less but I saw it during Halloween and took the signage literally. Take a look:

For the past few months, I have been working shorthanded and understaffed covering an entire metropolitan region/district all by myself since my direct supervisor decided to leave and pursue further education. This is all great as I am basically automatically promoted to his position, however, my current director (soon to be promoted, might I add) has been grilling me. All I heard during this promotion process is what he expected and what needs to be done because of the piss poor condition my service area has done, blame predecessor, but it took over a month for an offer letter to be formulated. Add insult to injury, the offer came to me as a shock as it compensated less than my predecessor. A big low ball offer for my services.
I had to renegotiate and altogether this process took another 3 weeks. Sure, I renegotiated to the same pay rate and was also promised to be retroactively compensated for the month I had already been acting in the promoted role and working understaffed. In the end, nothing was retroactively reflected in my paycheck and I have to train a new assistant. Training is not bad as it will reflect my ability to teach and lead but I expect it to be at my pace.

For the past two weeks of the holiday season I have been catching up on movies; visiting the local Blockbuster at least 3 times a day during the weekend (Thank you movie pass). I came across a movie I must recommend.
Once is a film which depicts a lost wandering musician trying to find himself and meets a lady with a similar passion for music. They find each and build a wonderful friendship and both improve their lives in the end as opposed to where they were at the start of the movie… namely lost and stuck.
