Hi Scott,

#1 The debate whether or not Apple will disable all the unlocking is still up in the air, there have been no confirmed reports only speculation. Also if the iPhone is good where it is, then just simply don't update the firmware until you know there is another unlock available.

#2 Sure everything can be added, but the iPhone already has all of these features pre-programmed. You can't add bluetooth, camera and speakers can you?

#3 You're probably right, but if someone is willing to pay $399 for an iPod Touch or iPhone, what's another $25-30?

Reason #1: Apple plans to disable unlocked iPhones

Reason #2: Most of the things you've listed (email, maps, stock, weather) can be added in the near future with an Apple update. Or just add a bookmark in Safari to your favorite online app.

Reason #3: 99.9% of people can't unlock an iPhone themselves nor would want to pay "some asian kid" to do it for them

Reason #4: Apple plans to DISABLE UNLOCKED IPHONES
