So you have been listening to music and charging your iPod thats connected to your computer and your suddenly prompted to restart to complete a Windows update. You go ahead and restart your computer and when it is loading back up, it gets stuck! You keep retrying to restart the computer and it always hangs up on a loading screen. What in the heck is going on? Has your computer finally broken down?
I have had several people ask me why their computer hangs after starting up and most of the times I encountered this incident, it is because their iPod is connected to the computer. It has something to do with the USB drivers being cached. All you have to get your computer up and running again is to unplug your iPod from your PC an restart again. Voila! Your PC will start up normally again.
This could be any USB device but since everyone owns an iPod, this question has been asked of me several times. So remember, please disconnect your iPod when you restart your PC or else it will just hang and not boot up completely. Even if you had it plugged in just to charge and were not even using it via iTunes.
There may be a fix for this on iPod’s firmware updates now, but I know for sure if you have owned an iPod, you probably have experienced this before. Hope this article has been helpful in troubleshooting a PC start related problem. ![]()
