Joost is a innovative idea where they bring television content to your PC. I have tested Joost and it is pretty good as far as quality and ease of use. The only thing lacking at the moment is the content. There is a large variety of shows, but it is not exactly the programs I am looking for. Another downfall is the picture quality is limited because of bandwidth limitations. I played around and watched the shows on Joost for about a week, but it just seemed most of the programs were just looped. The good thing is that everything is on demand so you can watch any program anytime you want and any episode as well.

I definitely see this as moving towards the future for television programing but until they add more content and programs I am interested in; I sadly have to watch television on my Dish NETWORK or just search through YouTube for clips. Also, an increase in server bandwidth or end-user bandwidth will be needed to put out some real quality content with HD content (crosses fingers).

As for alternatives, I found several Chinese peer to peer streaming programs that have a vast superior selection over Joost, albeit HK films and Chinese soaps, it is definitely worth watching. Not to mention the newest blockbuster movies that were just release in poor quality, you simply cannot beat that! If you want to give it a try or understand Chinese, you should definitely try the following two programs: PPLive and PPStream. They both work similarly and offer lots of programs but you will need to be able to read Chinese.
